Top 100 Wine Spectator
The vineyards
Château JÉRÉMIE is in the heart of the picturesque village of Fabrezan, close to Marseillette lake. Covering 65 hectares of vineyards, this estate embodies the quintessential Corbières terroir. Acquired in 2015 by Jean-Claude Mas, the vineyard has since undergone a remarkable transformation, with a fully renovated cellar ensuring optimal conditions for meticulous vinification.
Anchored in the Corbières terroir
Located on the road between the medieval cities of Carcassonne and Narbonne, the vineyards enjoy a privileged spot in the Corbières region. The vines, oriented East/West, are anchored in clay-limestone and silty-clay soils, offering an ideal balance for the region’s emblematic grape varieties.
A blend of excellence
Château JÉRÉMIE 2021 Terroir des Corbières AOP Corbières draws its strength from a thoughtful blend. A 45% Carignan, 30% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre blend, this wine reveals the richness and diversity of the terroir. The vines, on average twenty years of age, are cultivated according to environmentally friendly practices.
Winemaking process
Each grape variety is treated individually. Carignan undergoes carbonic maceration, while Grenache and Syrah benefit from temperature-controlled fermentation followed by three weeks of extended maceration. The wines are blended following malolactic fermentation, before being aged in 30% American and French oak barrels for six months.
A sensory symphony
Château JÉRÉMIE 2021 reveals a deep purple color. The nose reveals bewitching aromas of raspberry, herbs, and black olives. This full-bodied wine seduces with velvety tannins and good length. Served between 15-17°C (59-63F), it is a perfect match for garlic-sautéed mushrooms or a New York strip steak.
A wine to cellar
The exceptional quality of this vintage will be reflected as it ages. Château JÉRÉMIE 2021 Terroir des Corbières AOP Corbières can be enjoyed in all its splendor for 4 to 7 years, if stored in optimal conditions.
In conclusion, the 86th place in Wine Spectator’s Top 100 is a well-deserved recognition for our Château JÉRÉMIE. This wine embodies not only the excellence of the Corbières terroir, but also the unfailing dedication of our teams behind this wine jewel.
