CHÂTEAU VILLEGLY

The red grape varieties of Minervois

STORY

It is halfway between Carcassonne and Caunes-Minervois that the Château Villegly is located, which Jean-Claude Mas has been operating since early 2018. It bears the name of the beautiful village of Villegly. Its windmills, buildings, cellar, majestic tunnels, and glass-lined concrete vats bear witness to a flourishing wine-making past. The strength of this estate lies mainly in the rare exposure of its vineyard.

TERROIR

The 65-ha vineyard is in the Minervois appellation area. Facing north, which is unusual in this region, it offers harmonious wines with great finesse, especially with its Syrah, Cinsault or Caladoc. The soils of rolled pebbles, which come from the Clamoux river, are very draining. All the factors are there to create a great wine!
